Premium benefits: Oregon (tax-free) shipping address, 45-60 days free package storage, save $1/package processing fee, $2.25 per package consolidation.

Cost: $60/year or $10/month

Once you have a Shipito address, set up an Amazon.com account with that shipping address and add your credit card with the address used by your bank.

You can also set up an eBay account (or an account with any other store) using your Shipito Oregon address. When you set up a new account use Shipito as the shipping address and your banking address for the payment address.

Shipping Restrictions to New Caledonia

Shipito to New Caledonia uses DHL and there are restrictions on what you can ship:

  • Anything explosive or hazardous
  • Lithium-ion batteries by themselves (but OK if inside a phone, computer, or tool)

Managing Invoices

When you order something, save the invoice as a PDF file. Both Shipito and DHL Noumea need the receipts.

Organization tip: Create a folder in your Downloads folder called "DHLdec" (or whatever month you start ordering) and save all invoices there.

When a Package Arrives at Shipito

You'll receive an email notification like this:

Identifying Package Contents

The tracking number helps identify what's in the package. Go to Amazon and click on "Returns and Orders" to see your recent orders.

Click on "Track Package" to see the tracking number and confirm the contents.

Click on "View Details" to see the details and prices of each item in the package.

Completing Customs Declaration

Log into Shipito and look for the "Action Needed" notice showing received packages.

Click on the package from Amazon to enter customs declaration information.

Scroll to the top of the form and click "For Personal Use".

Scroll back down and enter each item (in English) with prices from the Amazon invoice.

Check the agreement boxes and click "Submit".

Package Consolidation

When you've finished ordering (typically 5-10 packages), go to the "Ready to Ship" section and start consolidation.

Consolidation tip: Select the option to send only merchandise. Shipito will remove all the original packaging and pack just the items you ordered in the smallest possible box with appropriate padding. They do an excellent job.

Select not to pay shipping until after consolidation is completed (their initial size/weight estimate is often inaccurate).

Pay for consolidation and processing.

You'll receive an email when consolidation is finished. Log back into your account and select shipping (always DHL) and pay.

After the package ships

You will get an email saying the package has been sent. Log back into your account and click on "Sent Packages".

For the recently shipped package, you'll see the DHL tracking number and two critical links:

  • DHL Tracking Number - Use this to track your package on DHL Tracking
  • Print Commercial Invoice - Opens the commercial invoice for all items in the package
  • Show Invoice - Shipito's charges for processing, consolidation, and shipping. DHL Noumea will need this too

Print the Commercial Invoice and the Shipito Invoice as PDF files and save them in your Downloads/ DHL folder.

DHL Clearance Process

When your package arrives, DHL will email asking about the shipment purpose (private/commercial) and requesting invoices.

Open your Downloads folder and rename the DHL folder to match your DHL tracking number (e.g., DHL2755338655).

Right-click on the folder and select "Compress to Zip file".

Reply to DHL's email and attach the zip file with all invoices.

After clearance, DHL will SMS you that the package is ready.

You can pay online before pickup, or pay at the counter when collecting your package.
